Hi Friends,
Having spent the past four months writing, networking and securing gigs for 2012 I can fill you in that I have secured an exciting production during the Adelaide Festival season next year and it involves a very prominent Australian ensemble. That's unfortunately all that I can reveal for now but keep revisiting the site and also stay tuned for updates on the upcoming album and my solo shows during the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
In more recent news, I have teamed up with Dridan Photographic and I am available for corporate functions & private receptions including weddings so email: trijo@jennifertrijo.com for a quote. The wedding last October long weekend went down a treat and a BIG congratulations to the newly wed, Mr & Mrs Nathan Marslen!
At the end of November, I will be taking part in Scorcherfest music festival in Adelaide so check out the gigs section for more details and to book tickets.
Cheers,
Jen =)
Hello friends,
Monday morning on a fine Adelaide Hills day and the birds are already singing...in fact they've been singing since 5am. I am about to delve into my home recording studio and I came across an article on one of my favourite DIY blogs for independent musicians that I thought I'd share with you:
http://diymusician.cdbaby.com/2011/08/songwriting-tips-from-the-hitmakers-pt-1/
"Songwriting tips from the hitmakers" is in 3 parts. I thought it was worth sharing because I often get asked: "what makes you write a song?" Truthfully, it feels more like a sense of "at what point do I have to sit at my piano, grab some manuscript paper and pencil and start writing down this music that has been swimming around in my head for the past few days?". It reminds me of the birds in the morning: they won't shut up, well neither will a lot of the melodies and lyrics that float around in my head 90% of my life. I found it enjoyable reading what other songwriters like John Rzeznik and Bjork [...]

Hello friends,
The creative bug has been in the air of late. I spent Sunday afternoon with 2 lovely songwriters from Belair and we brought to life the skeleton of a song which addresses a relevant topic to today's society: consumerism. Or, if you like, how much money we invest in happiness...when it's free. Anyhow, I'm liking the vibe of this one so I'm excited and dedicating a blog to it.
What's in the works? Well, a couple of weeks ago, I recorded the second track for Sherry Hearn's 'Soul Karma' album. It's shaping up to be a very interesting project and very different from anything I've ever worked on so make sure you grab a copy of the album once we announce it's release. On the personal front, I've secured a spot on the bill of the Scorcherfest music festival in November and I shall start updating you with the original songs that will be featuring on that set: many you have not yet heard of and don't yet feature on the website. I hope you all are having a fantastic week so [...]
